Best social scheduling & marketing for solo founders

Posting consistently on social is how most solo founders get their first users, but doing it by hand every morning eats an hour a day. A scheduler lets you batch a week of posts in one sitting and cross-post to X, LinkedIn, Threads and the rest, and a new wave of AI tools now generates the short-form content itself. Prices range from free to over $100 a month, and the pricing models (per channel, per social set, per plan tier) make comparisons genuinely confusing.

[ What we'd pick ]

Most solo founders should start on Buffer's free plan (3 channels, 10 queued posts each) and pay nothing until posting volume forces an upgrade, then move to Buffer Essentials at $5-15/mo for 1-3 channels. If you live on X and LinkedIn and write threads, Typefully Starter at $8/mo is the better writing tool; note Hypefury has dropped X support, so it is no longer the default X growth pick.

Switch to Post Bridge at $29/mo only when you are blasting short-form video to 6+ accounts, or self-host Postiz for about $5/mo in VPS cost if you are technical and want unlimited everything. If your real problem is making short-form video rather than scheduling it, Fastlane's free plan is worth a test before paying $29-49/mo.

Skip Later unless Instagram is your main channel, because its $25/mo Starter caps you at 30 posts per profile with no add-on escape hatch.
