Kinde

A hosted auth product that bundles login, B2B organizations, feature flags, and billing into flat-priced plans.

$25/mo (Pro)Free tier

What it actually does

Kinde combines authentication with adjacent product needs: B2B organizations, feature flags, and subscription billing, all under one subscription. Early B2B founders pick it to avoid stitching together separate auth, feature-flag, and billing services.

Every plan, free included, comes with 10,500 monthly active users. The free tier already covers MFA, five B2B organizations, feature flags, and one webhook, features that some rivals gate behind paid add-ons. Paid tiers are flat: $25, $75, and $250, with no per-seat math.

The weak spot is scale. Overage is $0.0175 per MAU, so 50,000 users runs about $716/mo, one of the priciest options here past 50k. Kinde's own billing also takes a 0.7% transaction fee on payments it processes.

Worth it for
  • Free tier includes MFA and 5 B2B organizations, which some rivals charge extra for
  • Feature flags and billing are built in, sparing a separate subscription
  • Flat plans at $25, $75, and $250 with no per-seat math
Watch out for
  • Only 10,500 free MAUs, far below Clerk's 50k
  • Overage of $0.0175 per MAU makes 50k users about $716/mo, pricey past 50k
  • Free and Pro cap you at 1 enterprise SSO connection; unlimited needs the $75/mo Plus plan

Pay less for it

5 ways found
Stay on free tier

10,500 MAUs with MFA, 5 organizations, and feature flags at $0.

Skip separate tools

Built-in feature flags and billing remove the cost of a LaunchDarkly-style subscription.

Billed customers are exempt

Any customer you charge more than $4/mo through Kinde billing does not count as a billable MAU.

Flat tiers

Predictable $25 / $75 / $250 pricing avoids per-seat cost creep on small teams.

Cheaper swap

ClerkIf you mainly need auth and a bigger free tier, Clerk gives 50k free users versus 10.5k, though you lose Kinde's built-in flags and billing.

Is it the right tool for you

Pick it if
  • You are early B2B and want auth, orgs, feature flags, and billing in one tool
  • You are under about 10,000 users
  • You value flat, predictable pricing over per-seat plans
Skip it if
  • You will pass 10k users soon and want a cheaper overage → use Clerk or Supabase Auth
  • You need many enterprise SSO connections billed to customers → use WorkOS
